Things have been getting pretty exciting these past few weeks so I thought it was time to start my blog!

The Adventurers and the Cursed Castle comes out in a little over two weeks. It’s so good to see the story in book-form with a wonderful cover illustrated by Andrew Smith.

I started writing The Adventurers way back in 2012 when I was living in USA, then work and life got in the way and my head was too full of other things to finish my story. Last year I revisited it and finished at a pace I’ve never written at before, the final 12,000 words were finished in less than three days!

I’ve been lucky enough to work with an outstanding team of individuals who helped give me the confidence to believe that what I’d written wasn’t completely rubbish. My editor Amanda was fantastic to work with and has just featured my cover this week on her book blog. Bojan on the Let’s Get Booked team did a marvellous job formatting my text into the print and e-book versions. And Andrew, as I mentioned earlier, created a beautiful piece of art for my cover. I’m so excited to work with them all for the second book in The Adventurers series!

Thank you to all my friends and family who have also offered their time and support these past few months, particularly Craig Brown who was the first person to read my draft story, and my mum who has been spamming everyone she knows on Facebook this weekend to pre-order my book!

I’m grateful to Linda Hill at Linda’s Book Bag who also kindly shared my book cover on her blog this week. Ahead of publication day, paperback copies are available for pre-order at Waterstones and Barnes and Noble. E-book pre-orders are available on Amazon (where the paperback version will also be available on 29th January).

I’ll leave my first blog post there for now, here’s a cheesy snap of me holding the very first paperback copy of my very first ever book! Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey so far, it really does mean a lot!
